The Beginning of a Long Road For this Old Jeep Wrangler
We are excited to announce that we are starting a personal project in the shop this week. Not our normal project post but a little variety to brake up the wrap posts. A friend of ours told us he picked up a few vehicles and there was one in particular he said we may be interested in we went and took a look without much knowledge we jumped for it (knowing it may be a mistake and a risk but we will learn something either way). We have never done a restoration project before or a custom project like this before, but like I said we wanted to try something new. The shop is going to try and do a weekly-ish update post on this 1988 Jeep Wrangler YJ.
Two Weeks ago we got her up on 4 tires so it could be towed to the shop and rolled around. Ryland helped out by wandering the yard she was parked at to find wheels that could fit. It was harder than we thought. We thought we hit the jackpot when the first wheel and tire we saw right near the jeep fit right on. then we grabbed the “sure thing” out of the back that came with it put it on the ground and lined it up just to find out it wouldn’t fit so we had to look all over the place tried 3 different wheel and tire combos and finally found a spare off a trailer that worked. It was in a open field on a 105 degree day needless to say we were hot and tired by the time we were done.

She has Arrived
Our Friend helped us by getting her to the shop a couple days ago she is finally home. Now that she is home we think she needs a name going to think long and hard about that one.
First Step is to give The Jeep a much needed bath
She has been sitting in a field for quite some time now (If you look at the pictures you can see that there was a tree growing up through it. The vehicle was last registered in 2011 so she has got some grime on her. Out comes the pressure washer and Shop Vac.
Then We have to COme Up With a Plan
All of the Plans include a Vehicle Wrap
Upcoming Steps (As of Right Now)
- Clean Her Up
- Get Her Running
- Fix Missing Suspension Parts
- Get Her Steering in the right direction
- Find Some Wheels & Tires
- Make Sure She Can Stop
